Key Features
Product description
Lovely natural tones and a fascinating rustic profile make Park Avenue Herringbone Natural Oak an ideal flooring choice for a classic or traditional interior. Warm honey, toffee and truffle accents provide a captivating foundation for the various wood knots and grain patterns, making the floor come alive and lend its surroundings a fascinating and bright touch. The brushing of the surface increases the intensity of the wood grain by bringing out the organic beauty of the wood and to let it shine. Natural Oak is completed with a quality oil finish, which means it will only get better with time, gaining more character and stunning features over the years.
We recommend oiling this product to ensure your wood flooring continues to perform at its optimum level. For information on when to re-oil and further advice on the best oil choice for the desired look you’re going for, please contact our specialist sales advisors who are always happy to help!

- Hello, we have bought the unfinished parquet oak flooring from you, but like the finish of this floor (PARK AVENUE HERRINGBONE NATURAL OAK). Please can you tell me the Osmo Oil tint you used - it looks like honey or amber? Thanks
- Hello, thank you for getting in touch! The Park Avenue Herringbone Natural Oak Solid Wood Flooring wouldn't have either of those oils. A transparent oil is used for this item. I hope this helps! If there is anything else we can assist with, please do not hesitate to get back in touch! Kind Regards, Alex
- Does the solid wood flooring need to be glued to subfloor? We were advised to buy underlay for this floor and that would contradict your previous advice shown below. Please clarify.
- Hello, thank you for getting in touch! We recommend securing Solid Wood directly to your subfloor with Adhesive: https://www.directwoodflooring.co.uk/impero-wood-flooring-adhesive.html or Fixing Screws: https://www.directwoodflooring.co.uk/elka-tongue-tite-fixing-screws.html. However, some customers, do prefer to lay Self-Adhesive Underlay and then secure the Wood Flooring to this: https://www.directwoodflooring.co.uk/impero-self-adhesive-wood-underlay.html. Our blog post covers these options in further detail: https://www.directwoodflooring.co.uk/dwfblog/solid-wood-flooring-guide/. I hope this helps, and if you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to contact us. Kind Regards, David.
- How do you look after the floor? How often does it need to have oil applied? What type and do you sell it?
- Hello, thank you for getting in touch! We have a blog post you may find useful, which covers this information in detail: https://www.directwoodflooring.co.uk/dwfblog/oiling-wood-floors/ We sell a range of Oils depending on the finish you are looking to achieve, which can be found here: https://www.directwoodflooring.co.uk/accessories/osmo-oils I hope this helps, if you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to contact us. Kind Regards, David.
- Hi, does this work well with underfloor heating or is there is a risk of warping? Cheers
- Hello, thank you for getting in touch. This flooring, like all Solid Wood floors, is not suitable for use with underfloor heating as it is likely to buckle and rise. However, we do have a fantastic range of Herringbone Engineered Wood Flooring which is suitable for underfloor heating up to a maximum recommended temperature of 27c, which you can find by scrolling down this page: https://www.directwoodflooring.co.uk/engineered-wood-flooring/by-range I hope this helps if you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to contact me. Kind Regards, David.
- I would prefer to have this nailed to an already wooden floor
- Hello, thank you for getting in touch! Our Park Avenue Herringbone is a Solid Wood Flooring. This means it will need to be secured to the subfloor. As your subfloor is floorboards, I would recommend secret nailing, please see the following recommended products: https://www.directwoodflooring.co.uk/elka-tongue-tite-fixing-screws.html I hope this helps and if you need any further assistance, please don't hesitate to get in touch. Kind Regards, Keely
- Does this floor need to be glued? I had wood fitted in my hallway and it wasn’t glued and has some bounce In it.
- Hello, thank you for getting in touch! A Solid Wood Flooring would need to be secured down to the subfloor with an Adhesive. Please follow this link to the Adhesive that we would recommend using:https://www.directwoodflooring.co.uk/impero-all-in-one-adhesive.html I hope that this helps and if you have any further questions or queries, please do not hesitate to contact us.
