Eco Product Development
We understand as a flooring retailer we are part of an industry that isn’t very environmentally friendly. We are working hard to change this one step at a time. As well as our positive projects for planting trees, removing ocean plastic and protecting habitats we are also investing in developing new products that are better for the environment. Some examples of our successes so far are below, but we appreciate we have a long way to go in this area and aim to have all products that can be fully recycled, cradle to cradle within the next 10 years.
Sustainable at the heart of our products
Plastic is widely used for many reasons. It is a strong, robust and versatile material - at low cost. However, when plastic is not correctly disposed of, the environmental implications become concerning.
Flooring Superstore is committed to making a positive impact on people and on the planet and we've already started on our journey with a plan to introduce more and more products that are made from recycled materials, and that can be recycled after use.
Our journey towards only using recycled or renewable based plastic will take some time and require new ways of doing things, but we are determined to take responsibility and find new solutions. We want to give our customers the possibility to choose products made from more sustainable materials that can be recycled again one day. Together, we can make a big difference!
Some of our innovations include:
- Carpets made from recycled nylon fishing nets
- Underlay made from recycled plastic
- Artificial Grass made from 80% recycled materials and is 100% recyclable
