Floor arrived as ordered does "Floor arrived as ordered does look darker down than photos in picture on line. Nice quality but some parts are resin sealed which i didn't expect." — Julie R. (3/5) It looks fantastic "It looks fantastic" — massimo l. (5/5) Great customer service, great product "Received fantastic support from the Crawley sales team (cancel and reorder handled well) and a beautiful engineered wood product delivered promptly." — Patrick R. (5/5) Gorgeous! "Have used Vintage Cellar in 3 of my rooms. Livingroom & 2 bedrooms. I have a modern/minimalist vibe in the house, this flooring really works with that. The darker wood of the flooring coupled with cream coloured walls, & lots of leafy ferns. The flooring is so hard wearing. Easy to maintain. Well worth the extra expense to get decent flooring. Would highly recommend! The service was great too. So helpful." — Kat (5/5) Vintage Cellar Oak Flooring "Looks amazing and it really looks like it has been reclaimed, is very thick too. Was so impressed with how it looked in new kitchen/extension, have decided to do the same in the living room. Also like the doctors it has a mat look." — Karen B. (5/5) Fabulous, natural-look flooring "We have laid Vintage Cellar Oak engineered flooring in the hall and living room of our Victorian house. It is a fabulous. It looks like it has been here forever. It's very natural with loads of variation in colour, lots of texture and knots. It's really beautiful. We have a busy home and wanted something that could stand loads of wear. The finish is matt, so we expect that scuffs and scratches won't be visible. It's a very natural brown/grey tone, unlike many oak samples we looked at which were either yellow, or an unnatural brown stain which looked like nasty furniture. This is proper wood!" — Claire D. (5/5)Q&A
- Is this flooring suitable for a bathroom ?
- Hello, thank you for getting in touch. We would not recommend using Engineered wood in a bathroom due to the temperature and moisture fluctuations which can damage the flooring. However, I would recommend using the EvoCore range, which is 100% waterproof and can be laid in any room. https://www.directwoodflooring.co.uk/evocore-essentials-hot-chocolate-oak.html I hope this helps, and if you require any further assistance, please do not hesitate to get back in touch. Kind Regards, Christina.
- Which colour end profile will best match this flooring?
- Hello, thank you for getting in touch! The Vintage Cellar Oak is recommended to be used with the FC41 End Profiles which I've linked here: https://www.directwoodflooring.co.uk/fc41-end-profile.html I hope this helps! If there is anything else we can assist with please do not hesitate to get back in touch! Kind Regards, Alex
- I am installing this in a kitchen, with wet UFH in a screed. Please can you confirm the recommended installation for this scenario Thanks
- Hello, thank you for getting in touch! I can confirm as this is an Engineered Wood this is suitable for use in a kitchen. We would recommend installing a floating floor by gluing the tongue and groove system with the following adhesive: https://www.directwoodflooring.co.uk/impero-grip-adhesive-glue.html This flooring is suitable for use with wet system UFH however, we would recommend the following Underlay: https://www.directwoodflooring.co.uk/timberlay-heatflow-underlay.html I hope this helps! If there is anything else we can assist with please do not hesitate to get back in touch! Kind Regards, Alex
- Hi, we have underfloor heating underneath a screed floor...will the heating still work through this floor as it's quite thick? And does it need an underlay? Thanks
- Hello, thank you for getting in touch! This flooring is suitable for use with underfloor heating, but I can not advise on how effective this will be based on your particular heating system and the thickness of the screed which has been laid. I would recommend you seeking the advice of a professional fitter or heating engineer to discuss this. Yes, a suitable Underlay is required, I would recommend the Timberlay Heatflow for use with Underfloor Heating systems up to a maximum temperature of 27c: https://www.directwoodflooring.co.uk/timberlay-heatflow-underlay.html I hope this helps if you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to contact me. Kind Regards, David.
- Hello, we are looking to cover roughly 115m square with engineered wood flooring in our home and love the look of your vintage cellar oak. Could you let me know please whether this is suitable with underfloor heating? Many thanks, Kind regards, Amy
- Hello, thank you for getting in touch! This is absolutely suitable for underfloor heating! You would need to use the Timberlay Heatflow Underlay in between the planks and the underfloor heating: https://www.directwoodflooring.co.uk/timberlay-heatflow-underlay.html. I hope this helps! If there is anything else we can assist with, please do not hesitate to get back in touch! Kind Regards, Katie.
- Can these be laid directly on joists?
- Hello, thank you for getting in touch! Yes, this can be fitted directly onto joists as the flooring is over 18mm thick and comes in fixed lengths. This can be done by using the 'secret nail' method. I hope this helps! If there is anything else we can assist with, please do not hesitate to get back in touch! Kind Regards, Katie.
- We have recently bought the vintage cellar oak floor and underlay. Do we need the floor sealant that you put on the floor before underlay. It’s concrete floor.
- Hello, thank you for getting in touch! As long as the Underlay that you have bought has a built-in damp-proof membrane, you are fine and will not need to DPM the concrete sub-base. Here is a link to some of the Underlay that we recommend that have the DPM built-in: https://www.directwoodflooring.co.uk/timberlay-silver-underlay.html https://www.directwoodflooring.co.uk/timberlay-gold-underlay.html I hope that this helps and if you have any further questions or queries, please do not hesitate to contact us. Kind regards, Jasmin
