The varying home styling and unique designs created with our flooring ranges will never cease to amaze us! The use of solid wood parquet in this customer’s home does not disappoint. It's such a popular wood flooring trend we're seeing more and more of. We were astonished to see the transformation their 1911 Edwardian semi-detached property has undergone, with both internal and external renovation work and a whole host of hands-on DIY. The couple have been kind enough to share their transformation with us to inspire others with their exquisite style and periodic features!
Self-installations, re-upholstering and decorating is just the start. We’re not one to shy away from the trusty paint brush and overalls so can appreciate the hard work and commitment that has gone into this project. They say a picture speaks a thousand words so here is some before and afters to take a peek at!

Amazed yet?
Of course being flooring specialists we were in awe of the use of unfinished parquet oak solid wood flooring to add character, charm and authenticity to the kitchen and living areas. Giving credit to the finishing style as oil tints have been used to stamp originality and uniqueness on the design.
Unfinished parquet is the ideal blank canvas to get creative and express your sense of style. With coloured oil variations and gloss, matt and anti-slip coverings available to enhance the authentic features of the wood - you can really bringing your flooring ideas to life. Plus, it's really easy to clean.
Restorations
We also love the restoration of furnishings. From the 50s kitchen larder to 70s retro sofa bed and stylish G Plan 6250, the attention to detail in the upholstering, ebonising and varnishing has surpassed all expectation. The furniture is even more appealing than their original designs, with modern colour enhancements used to exaggerate the furniture’s periodic features.
The upholstery work pays great testament to the fabulous creations by Reloved Upholstery . The luxurious fabrics and stylish designs are in a league of their own. We love the geometric fabric used on the retro G Plan 6250; the colours contrast against the black leather perfectly. The transformation of the beautiful mid-century sofa bed speaks volumes too. The teal wool fabric and frame treatment has given the sofa a whole new look and feel; far surpassing its original design.
Love this look? Reloved Upholstery are passionate about fabric, interiors and bespoke upholstery. They have a real love for restoring vintage furnishings – not only on an aesthetic level but also for their silent, dependable functionality and the historic attachment. You’ll see some of their amazing work on the popular BBC1 TV programme – Money for Nothing.
The Layout
We couldn’t write about this home without commenting on the beautiful kitchen and bi-folding door layout. What a stunning way to add additional light to your home and really make use of the outdoor space. The open plan design really elevates the house to the next level, bringing a modern twist to the Edwardian style.
Love this look? Panoramic Doors are the only folding door system on the market that has panels that move independently of each other, giving the user full control over the opening, and the ability to configure the doors in many different ways, to suit their needs. They also have the highest security rating and energy efficiency rating for a door of this type. Check out their handy demonstration video for more information.
So why have we shared this gorgeous home with you?
In general the property has been completely updated/ backdated. Of course it has taken time to get to this stage but the results speak for themselves. From the choice of furnishings and décor to the bigger construction works, the house looks fantastic.
We’re not saying race off to Right Move or your local auction house to buy a renovation project but what we are saying is creating your dream home is possible with a little time and patience. The couple tackled the project room by room to bring their ideas to life. We can appreciate decorating your home is a big decision and can often come with a daunting price tag. By the time you've refurnished, redecorated and bought those extra finishing touches which weren't in the budget but you absolutely needed, the purse strings can feel tight. Managing your project into smaller sections gives you time to save to create the home you love on an affordable budget - after all Rome wasn’t built in a day!
