If you’re a lover of daytime television, you may have flicked over to see Channel 4’s Bang on Budget at one point or another. The show focuses on home renovation, creating stunning homes on a tight budget. Naturally, this seemed like the perfect fit for Direct Wood Flooring. So, we got to work in helping presenters Lucy Alexander and Harry Hoffen make the transformation happen.
In episode 10, Mary and Andy downsized to a bungalow for what they plan to be their last house. The episode takes us through the process of renovating their kitchen and living room. Aiming for a high-end open space, draped in gloss white and coming in on-budget, was going to be no easy feat.
To achieve a high-end look and feel to their home, Mary and Andy opted for wood flooring. Whereas they were going to opt for a quality laminate flooring, they instead chose to go with engineered wood.
There are many benefits to engineered wood, which justify attributing a little more budget to lay it in their home. To help with the renovation, we gave Bang on Budget our Carpenters Choice Oak engineered wood flooring.
The 130mm wide planks in this engineered wood reflect true craftsmanship. Featuring our easy-to-fit click lock system, each plank has unique texture and authentic colouring to produce a stunning flooring.
A brushed and lacquered finish gives the wood a glossed finished, while a brushed texture accentuates the wood’s natural grains.
At 14mm thick, Carpenters Choice Oak is incredibly durable. Plus, with a solid wood veneer, the flooring can be sanded and re-finished to increase its longevity. Perfect for the kitchen in Mary and Andy’s forever home.
